Hungary, a spicy “gulyás” of east and west, where 2000-year-old Roman ruins and 400-year-old Turkish monuments compliment rich Hungarian folk traditions. Wine and gastronomy are trademarks of Hungary just as much as Lake Balaton, the Parliament, amazing museums, vivid cultural life, and healing spas. Budapest, a city with two million inhabitants located in the heart of Europe, halfway between London and Moscow, is the capital of this country, which differs greatly from all of its neighbors, both in terms of language and culture. The "Pearl of the Danube", whose wonderful panorama is on UNESCO's World Heritage list, is famous for its cultural history, entertaining festivals, spicy culinary culture and traditional customs. The city is also well known for its amazing architectural heritage: a lot of late 19th/ early 20th century buildings are now transformed into world class hotels. These complement the increasing conference facilities of the capital, and offer a unique atmosphere for all kinds of events.

Latest data published by ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) shows that Budapest ranked number 6 among the most popular conference towns in the world in 2007. That achievement can also be attributed to Hungary's positive image, high quality accommodation facilities and also to experienced Hungarian program organizers. According to ICCA data, Hungary was the 22nd destination on the listing of the most preferred countries around the world for international business events and conferences in 2007.
