7th Anniversary

Germany is still the most popular meetings destination
in Europe

In May 2002 the seven largest German convention centers, all with extensive conference and exhibition facilities, founded the marketing alliance “SevenCenters of Germany”. Since then, the Big Seven have jointly promoted Germany internationally as a meetings destination with the slogan “Great Places for Great Conventions”. At IMEX 2009 the SevenCenters of Germany will celebrate its 7th anniversary.

The members of the SevenCenters of Germany are:

• ICM – International Congress Centre Munich

Under the motto “Together we are even stronger”, these seven big congress centers today form a powerful marketing association. At a strong presence at international fairs, a dedicated website and targetted marketing campaigns and activities, they present Germany as a destination to a global professional audience. It is due, in no small measure, to this joint promotion that Germany has secured first place in Europe for four successive years and second place worldwide in the International Association Meetings Market Study published by the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA).

Since the marketing alliance was founded, the SevenCenters have numbered among the foremost representatives of the German meetings industry on the international stage, with a positive influence on growing awareness of the destination. The seven convention centers are spread across the whole of Germany, making the alliance a perfect portfolio of venues for organisers of major international events. All the members offer similar conference facilities and a direct link to extensive exhibition space.

SevenCenters hosts an anniversary competition

To mark their 7th anniversary, the SevenCenters are holding a big prize draw with an extremely attractive prize. The lucky entrant will win:

• 2 VIP tickets for a concert by the famous rock band Coldplay on August 27, 2009 in Düsseldorf plus hotel accommodation (in a double room) for two nights

IMEX 2009 – SevenCenters anniversary activities and German “Stammtisch”

At this year’s IMEX from May 26 to 28, 2009 in Frankfurt, the SevenCenters will again have a joint presence on the German Convention Bureau’s Germany stand. All the partners and their sales teams will be present on Stand F 110, where they will be available to talk to customers, make contacts and exchange information.

On the occasion of their 7th anniversary, the SevenCenters will host a press breakfast on the first day of IMEX, May 26. On the afternoon of May 27 the alliance invites all exhibition visitors to a Happy Hour from 4 pm to 6 pm on the SevenCenters stand.

And what would the anniversary year be without the familiar “German Stammtisch”, organised each year by the SevenCenters at IMEX and EIBTM? On the evening of May 26, 2009, the SevenCenters look forward to welcoming their customers for a cosy dinner together. Afterwards, a shuttle bus will whisk the guests straight from the restaurant to the legendary Cocoon Club, scene of the famous CIM Clubbing event that the SevenCenters are again co-sponsoring this year. The party is an opportunity to make new business contacts or simply to dance the night away.
