For MICE programs, the Crowne Plaza Paris République offers 18 meeting rooms that accommodate from 5 to 400 attendees and Executive Floor Level guest rooms. All event and public spaces in the hotel are equipped with Wi-Fi and the hotel’s exhibition space is large enough to accommodate thirty 2.5m x 3m stands. This year, the property opened an on-site convention center that is one of the largest and most modern in the region. The new convention center offers 7,299 sqm/78,566 sqft of space and is outfitted with state-of-the-art event technology. Facilities include ten meeting rooms; three boardrooms; a ballroom, which accommodates 3,000 delegates; a multi-purpose hall and 1,457 sqm/15,683 sqft of exhibition space. In addition, the property’s palm garden and the “Secret Garden” are available for outdoor events. Although the center is only months old, it has already hosted significant events like BMW’s new 7-Series automobile launch and summit talks with the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. | SOUTH AFRICA: Cape Town International Convention Centre Phase 2 | |
The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is embarking on Phase 2 of its development with plans to create the greenest building in South Africa. The CTICC expansion will be a 6-Star, 30,000 sqm/322,917 sqft green building that will feature 9,500 sqm/102,257 sqft of exhibition space. CEO of CTICC, Mr. Toefy said Phase 2 would be designed to use 40% less energy per square meter than the present CTICC, 95% less potable water and 25% less waste to landfill. The building will utilize natural daylight and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. Water conservation will be achieved through recycling of rainwater and an on-site water treatment system. Waste will be minimized through on-site recycling.
