Advent in the Heart of Zagreb |
 Advent in the heart of Zagreb is a traditional pre-holiday event held in the central city square, bringing guests and citizens of Zagreb the atmosphere of advent and Christmas with a rich musical and arts program. Interested citizens, guests of our town and accidental passersby can enjoy the programs of numerous cultural-artistic societies, children’s choirs, drama ensembles, dance groups, magicians and vocal and instrumental groups, all under the watchful eye of Father Christmas, much to the delight of the youngest. Beside the vast Program on Main Square, there are many other locations to discover during this season:
Advent on Zrinjevac
Through the alley of plane trees, you will reach the old music pavilion, which will welcome you in its Christmas, fairy-tale look and leave you breathless. Musical treats - Christmas classics, waltzes, and carefully selected music program for ladies and gentlemen are the reasons you will surely visit Zrinjevac again. Unique and interesting souvenirs and Christmas ornaments will be sold by selected artists, and while standing you will be able to enjoy the almost forgotten Zagreb specialties: cabbage cloths, fried apples or baked štrukle, and warm up with hot chocolate or mulled wine. All this and more you will see, hear and taste at the Advent on Zrinjevac.
Winter at Kvatrić
Various cultural events throughout November, December and January that will ensue throughout the upcoming three months are intended for citizens and guests of Zagreb alike. Daily programs will take place within a heated tent, starting at noon, and they will be tied to St. Martin’s Day, St. Nicholas’ Day, the Advent, and the New Year. Numerous cultural and artistic associations from Zagreb and its vicinity, as well as other regions and counties of Croatia, will present themselves during the event; there will also be tradesmen offering various indigenous products and souvenirs. Furthermore, there will also be various entertainment and educational programs.
