Germany, Stuttgart: New App for Congress Attendees
Stuttgart After Business AppBusiness travelers and, above all, congress attendees, represent one of the most important target groups in Stuttgart's visitors list. They differ significantly from all other types of visitors. The Stuttgart Convention Bureau/Stuttgart-Marketing GmbH has now developed a new concept with the aim of binding business and meeting guests considerably more firmly to the city's "what to do while in Stuttgart" offers. It focuses on providing, in a practical form, need-based leisure activities that complement the professional obligations of the visitor: the Stuttgart After Business App.
The offers focus on themes such as eating out, live music locations, special after-work offers, workout facilities and shopping tips. Particular attention has been paid to selecting offers that are all typical of the region. It's intended that business and conference visitors should gain a distinctive impression of the region's unique features and be enthused by its range of tourism options.

Korea, Seoul rolls out MICE master plan for large-scale meetings
SeoulSEOUL Metropolitan Government created a "Master Plan" for the rapid development of Seoul's MICE industry which has been selected as one of Seoul's future core industries. With the planned boost of new meeting and congress space, the city will create the infrastructure to facilitate the needs of the enormously growing meeting sector in Asia (133% from 2006 to 2010).
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza scheduled to open in 2014 and a large convention center next to Seoul Station set open by 2018. This first step will boost Seoul's meeting capacity from its current 64,000 sqm/ 688,888 sqft to 103,000 sqm/ 1,108,678 sqft, and form a major MICE region of convention centers and 5 star hotels in the middle of the city. Several other large-scale MICE zones have been proposed for development by 2020.
The second step, in the southeast region of Seoul, will take up the full block of governmental buildings directly east of Coex – adding to the area's established reputation as the city's meetings powerhouse.
The nearby complex of Olympic sports stadiums in the Jamsil area will also serve as an ideal setting for redevelopment. Altogether, this MICE complex in the southeast region of Seoul will bring the city's total meetings capacity to 18,600 by 2020.
Seoul will also add several services to make to make the city even more attractive to meetings planners and attendees. Lesser-known unique venues throughout Seoul will be improved and promoted to offer meeting planners a wide variety of spaces to choose from.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will work with Seoul Tourism Organization, academic institutions and top MICE employers to create programs for preparing the next generation of Seoul MICE professionals. The city will also expand the scope of the Seoul Convention Bureau, the business events division of the Seoul Tourism Organization.

The romance of crumbly European architecture and cobbled streets makes Buenos Aires an alluring city, but it is the food that wins most hearts: the slabs of steak, scoops of dulce de leche and oodles of smooth red wine never fail to impress. The San Telmo and Palermo hotspots and milongas (tango halls) and dance clubs atmospheres give inspiration to theme events after a conference day in one of the cities excellent MICE properties.

Germany, rich in diversity: from romantic Heidelberg, the medieval Nuremberg of Dürer, the Weimar of Goethe and the Bauhaus, to the lively port cities of Bremen and Hamburg, the financial center of Frankfurt and revitalized cities of the former east like Dresden. Overshadowing them all is the cosmopolitan decadence of Berlin, where bureaucrats of the new capital rub shoulders with artists and techno club-goers.
