Welcome to Panama, a country where the concept of exotic begins with its name. Panama means "abundance of fish and butterflies" in one of our indigenous languages. Come to where the sun, adventure, mystery, business and leisure opportunities are also abundant and mix together to form a unique destination. Panama is better known as “The Bridge of the World”, where modern cities meet with nature's beauty and where there's always something new to discover.
Panama City is one of the preferred destinations in Latin America. Its prime location and excellent infrastructure, together with its supreme nightlife and world‑class services, make it the meeting and incentive capital of the Americas. The city speaks about its rich past and promising future.
Panama was the place where the first city in mainland America was founded, was part of Simon Bolivar’s dream, was the place chosen for the construction of the first inter‑oceanic railroad and then the Canal, that united both seas. Panama is Caribbean and Pacific in its more than 3,000 km/279 miles of coastline and 1,500 islands. Panama is jungle and metropolis with its 15 national parks and protected areas a few minutes away from the center of the city. Panama is America, Europe, Africa and Asia in its more than 2 million inhabitants. Panama is past, present and future in its Old Panama, French Quarters and the gleaming high rises of the international banking center. Panama is Latin America’s largest banking center with more than one hundred banks representing over 30 different countries.
