Stuttgart's numerous museums, a wide range of galleries and a very lively art scene guarantee outstanding enjoyment for art lovers. One of Germany’s most prominent museums is the Stuttgart State Gallery. Since 2005 the Stuttgart Museum of Art, located right in the heart of the city on Palace Square, has enhanced the diversity of art and culture on offer in Stuttgart including its appealing architecture in the shape of a glass cube.

Stuttgart's traditional festivals enjoy international popularity. The family‑friendly Stuttgart Spring Festival, the elegant Summer Festival with its white pavilions and lanterns, and the Stuttgart Wine Village, with over 120 lovingly decorated wine arbors set up around the Old Palace. Late September is the time for the more boisterous Cannstatt Beer Festival, which began in 1818 as a thanksgiving festival, with its countless fairground attractions and vast beer tents holding up to 5,000 guests. The Advent season sees the opening of the Stuttgart Christmas Market.
