Venues for Group Events

McCormick Place

The largest and most flexible convention center in North America, McCormick Place is the reason meeting planners choose Chicago for their conventions, trade shows, and special events. Its 2.7 million square feet of event space, which attracts nearly 3 million visitors a year, allow for optimal configurations for groups small to large.
McCormick Place is moving to a new way of doing business that will dramatically change the convention industry in Chicago. On May 27, 2010, the Illinois General Assembly enacted historic legislation in response to customer demands for a sweeping transformation in the way business is conducted on MPEA premises. As a result of this legislation, show management, contractors and exhibitors will realize immediate and long‑term benefits. Examples of these benefits include expanded straight‑time work hours, enhanced exhibitor rights to allow them to do more of their own set‑up and tear‑down, reduced food and beverage pricing, and more. Navy Pier

Stretching almost a mile into Lake Michigan, Navy Pier is an entertainment complex that doubles as a meeting venue. The historic landmark with a convenient downtown location has modern, flexible facilities that can accommodate midsize meetings and special events for up to 5,000 guests. Navy Pier offers a unique setting for meetings and exhibitions.

Museums

Break out of those conference rooms and discover Chicago. Dine with a beluga whale at the Shedd Aquarium or the great T. rex at the Field Museum. Sup alongside a World War II submarine at Museum of Science and Industry or dine under a magnificent Tiffany glass dome at the Chicago Cultural Center.

Sports Venues

An event at one of Chicago’s sports stadiums is always a winner. At Wrigley Field, built in 1914 and home to the Chicago Cubs, planners can buy out a 90‑minute park tour and suites for guests. Event planners can also host an event at a Cubs rooftop. Rooftops offer great views of the stadium and typically have all you can eat and drink options. Home of the Chicago White Sox, U.S. Cellular Field offers suites with catering service and/or group tickets for attendees. Come football season, the Chicago Bears play at the landmark Soldier Field, where both indoor and outdoor facilities offer awesome lakefront and city views. Finally, the United Center, home to the Bulls and Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks, provides private suite rentals with luxurious amenities.
