World Expo 2010 Shanghai China

A worldwide event to be held in Shanghai in 2010 with economic, scientific, technological and cultural exchanges, displaying historical experience, exchanging innovative ideas, demonstrating esprit de corps and looking to the future. With the participation of over 230 countries and international organizations around the world, 70 million visitors from domestic and overseas are expected to visit this great event in Shanghai next year.

The Bund

The Bund is a symbol of Shanghai. The buildings are about or over one hundred years old and harmonious in color and style, thus gaining the name of Gallery of World Architecture. There are the Gothic pointed roofs, ancient Greek vaults, Baroque columns and Spanish balconies.

Oriental Pearl Tower

The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, completed in 1994 with a height of 468 meters/1,400 feet, is the highest in Asia and the third highest in the world, only next to the TV towers in Toronto, Canada and Moscow. It is an integrated center, combining sightseeing, catering, shopping, entertainment, hotel accommodation, broadcasting and TV transmission into one entity.

Yuyuan Garden

A famous classical garden in south China, and it was once famed as the “top beauty in southeast China”. First built during the Ming Dynasty, 400 years ago, it is now one of the key relic sites in the country under state protection.

Xin Tian Di

It is the amusement center and may be the most modern place in Shanghai, complete with catering service, bars, shopping, and performance facilities of the latest fashion. But what attracts people most is all the fashionable things are in the reproduced Shanghai’s “Shikumen” (traditional architectural style).

Jade Buddha Temple

It’s a famous temple known for the two jade Buddha statues of a legend enshrined in it. The magnificent architecture of the temple is of the Song Dynasty palace type.

Tian Zi Fang

Tian Zi Fang is located on Lane 210, Tai Kang Road which was an old resident block and built about 80 years ago. There are many old Shanghai style buildings such as Shikumen. It retained the appearance of old building and gradually developed to a commercial art street including art galleries, design studios, craft shops, fashion shops and so on. Many famous Chinese artists used to work or still work there where is full of artistic atmosphere.
