San Jose Downtown

Costa Rica’s capital and the largest city, San Jose is considered as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America. Located in the center of the country (Central Valley) and it is surrounded by gorgeous untouched cloud forests. National Parks

Costa Rica´s richest patrimony is its wildlife, the National Parks and Wildlife Refuges of Costa Rica are managed by MINAE, the Ministerio de Ambiental y Energia. The 25.58 % of the total land of the country is dedicated to protected areas (161 total: 25 National Parks, 8 Biological Reserves, 32 Protected Zones, 11 Forest Reserves, 58 Wildlife, 15 Wetlands/Mangroves, 12 other categories).

Sarchi (artisans hometown)

A small town, recognized for its brightly colored, intricately constructed handicrafts. At only an hour’s drive from San José, a visit to Sarchí is a perfect day tour while traveling through the beautiful Central Valley.
The largest and most frequently visited oxcart factory, better known as the Joaquín Chaverri Oxcart Factory, opened in 1902 and is recognized as the birthplace of oxcart construction in Costa Rica. Visitation to Sarchi often coincides with tours to Poas and Barva volcanoes.
