Geneva Airport is 4.8 km/3 miles from the city center. Direct rail link between central station and airport every 10 minutes, length of journey 6 minutes. Public buses run between the airport and downtown every 10minutes, length of journey 20 minutes. Taxis carrying maximum 4 passengers cost CHF 35‑45.

 
Public Transportation
General Information

Geneva can be discovered by tram, bus or even boat. Visitors have a wide choice of tickets, which have to be bought prior to boarding. Public transportation is available for trips to neighboring France. The train service between downtown and the Geneva countryside brings you to picturesque villages and tiny hamlets in the vineyards in just 15 minutes.

Taxis

Taxis can be ordered by phone or found at authorized taxi stands. Fares are indicated on officially approved taximeters including tips. A small surcharge is asked for luggage.

Geneva Transport Card

All hotels, youth hostels and camp‑sites in the Canton of Geneva will provide their customers with a free Geneva Transport Card, valid throughout their stay on the whole network UNIRESO (TPG buses and trams, CFF trains and Geneva "Mouettes" lake boats). Moreover, all visitors who arrive at Geneva Airport have the option of a free ticket valid for 80 minutes.
