Transportation

Houston has 2 airports: George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) and William P. Hobby (HOU). IAH, 20 miles/32.1 km from downtown, is Houstonís international gateway and Continental Airlines' largest hub. Hobby Airport, 11 miles/17.7 km from downtown, offers service within the USA and is a hub for Southwest Airlines. METRO Airport Direct offers convenient transportation directly from the downtown Airport Direct Passenger Plaza to IAH Terminal C for 15 USD one way with departures every 30 minutes in both directions. General Information

The METRORail, light rail train offers convenient, accessible service within the heart of the city between downtown Houston and Reliant Park, including stops at the Museum District and Texas Medical Center. METRO Bus service runs mostly on city streets, stopping at every other corner along its route. One‑way fare for both the METRORail and METRO Bus is USD1.25. Offering the most flexibility and independence, the city is easily navigable with a rental car.

Taxis

Taxis are a great way to move about the city. Houston has more than 2,200 taxis in its fleet. The City of Houston has authorized a flat taxi fare of $6 for all trips in the downtown area, bounded by Interstate 45, Interstate 10 and U.S. 59.
